I love our home! It’s our first home and I love the peacefulness and quiet and having a little chunk of property! BUTTTT sometimes, I’m tellin’ ya, this whole manufactured home thing throws a wrench into things as far as our home improvement and DIY projects. But here’s the thing:
Take for example, this toilet paper holder and wood platform for your phone to be set on! How cool is that?! Now, if I didn’t have the screws fall INTO the wall when being drilled in, and a big ol hole being put in the wall from trying to do an industrial toilet paper holder with piping...cringing just thinking about it right now...it was too heavy for the wall...BUT with all that trial and error, I wouldn’t have ever thought of doing this DIY or searching for the alternative that would still be cute, quirky, but functional!
So... I have to think outside of the box a bit. I got a couple L brackets, screwed them into the wood and then screwed it to the wall, it’s light wood, which means lightweight and won’t coming falling down or ripping out. THEN, I used the toilet paper holder that I found on amazon, and fastened that to the wood as well, and VOILA!
It hides the hole patch, is on there securely, and isn’t falling off the wall! And how cute is that little fake succulent I got from Target Dollar Spot?!
Moral of the story: some things are a blessing in disguise and challenge means growth. This home of ours has taught me more than I ever bargained for! And I appreciate all the trials and errors and victories along the way!
